Can I use AI tools to pull data from library databases?

NO. While AI tools may be useful for research, our licenses with our database vendors strictly prohibit the use of AI to interact with their websites in any way, but especially for extracting text or data at scale or for developing tools or scripts to automate data extraction. Some database vendors will permanently revoke user access to their resources if "data scraping" via AI or other means is detected.

If you need access to large amounts of text or other data, please email us at reference-librarians@fuqua.duke.edu for assistance with alternatives.
